International Competition
Deadline: July 15th
The enrollment period for the international competition of ideas Made-In is open until July 15th. The aim of this competition is to call to Guimarães artists and architects interested in reconfiguring five public spaces in the city of Guimarães beyond 2012: the wash houses along the watercourse of Ribeira de Couros. The competition aims at drawing attention to this social and architectural heritage of great simplicity and social value at risk of disappearance and also to attract sponsors for the construction of permanent works.
On June 13th guided site visit to the competition locations will take place, upon registration at madein@guimaraes2012.pt. The venue is Palácio Vila Flor, by 14h30, and participants must provide their own means of locomotion.
This competition is aimed towards art and architecture professionals to present ideas for four existing public wash houses under open call. Alongside there is also an open call for proposals for the construction of a new wash house – these invitations will be announced in due course.
The deadline for requests for clarification was extended until June 15th and the deadline for replies to these requests until June 21th.
