SITE DESCRIPTION
Located directly outside the entrance to the Studio Building (the global headquarters for Liquitex) and Griffin Gallery on Evesham Street, in West London, the commission site is a stretch of whitewashed temporary plywood hoarding, approximately 60 metres in length.  The hoarding currently surrounds a car park, owned and managed by Monsoon.
      
CREATIVE BRIEF
We would like to commission an artist (or art collective) to create a single piece of artwork along the full length of the hoardings, to remain in situ for approximately one year.

The work should reflect the ethos of the Griffin Gallery: an internationally focussed gallery, exploring craftsmanship and engagement with materials in contemporary art practice.  We are looking for proposals that are aesthetically interesting as well as emotionally or conceptually engaging, in any style, but are imposing no particular restrictions on content at this stage.

Art materials for creating the final artwork will be provided by Liquitex.

PRACTICALITIES

• 6-8 examples of previous work
• Artist’s CV
• Proposal sketch for the hoardings

Proposals will be considered by the Griffin Gallery Director, Global Fine Art Marketing Director and Liquitex Global Product Manager.

3. Artist Fees

ColArt will pay the successful artist or collective a flat fee of £2,000, inclusive of expenses but exclusive of VAT.
All materials for the final artwork will be provided by Liquitex.

4. Marketing and promotion

The successful artist or collective will be required to participate in some brand activity for Liquitex, for example; filming of live painting, interviews and vox-pops for the Liquitex website and social media sites.

The final artwork will be promoted via the Griffin Gallery website, Liquitex website and various associated social media accounts.  The Griffin Gallery will also send out a press release to announce the completion of the artwork.

We can arrange a small launch event, at the artist’s request, but this will be limited to a small number of invited guests to be agreed with the Gallery Director.

Jerwood Visual Arts (JVA) and Forestry Commission England are delighted to announce Jerwood Open Forest, an exceptional opportunity for visual artists to propose ideas for a major new £30,000 commission to be realised anywhere within England's Public Forest Estate.

There is no brief. The forests are open for artists’ ideas. This is a call for bold, broad‐thinking proposals that explore the potential of forests as sites for art, both in and about the environment. Proposals can be for work in any discipline or medium, temporary or permanent, site‐specific or for touring to more than one location. Launching the initiative, the partnership between Jerwood Visual Arts and Forestry Commission England brings together the expertise of two esteemed national organisations. Jerwood Open Forest will facilitate new interactions between artists and forests and will open up new art experiences to a wide public audience. It aims to lead a national conversation about how contemporary visual artists engage with the environment today.

From initial ideas submitted, five artists will be selected to receive a £2,000 Research and Development fee to develop their proposals over a six‐month period. Each artist will be fully supported by Jerwood Visual Arts and Forestry Commission England to expand on the concept, assess the viability of the idea and explore potential sites through this phase. This research process will culminate in a curated exhibition at JVA at Jerwood Space which will present the artists' work and explore broader contemporary debates around critical practice and art in the public realm and the environment. During the exhibition one artist
will be selected to receive a £30,000 commissioning budget to realise their proposal.

Sculpture Space, Inc. in partnership with Griffiss Park Landowners Association (GPLA) with funding from the New York State Council for the Arts (NYSCA) and the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council (MVREDC) is pleased to accept submissions for the Season of Sculpture Festival.
 
We seek to commission an artist or artists’ team for a site-specific artwork.
From this RFQ, finalist selections will be made and proposals solicited.
 
ELIGIBILITY
This RFQ is open to all professional artists over the age of 18.  Sculpture Space Alumni are strongly encouraged to apply.

SCOPE AND NATURE OF PROJECT
$59,500 – Griffiss International Sculpture Garden, Rome, NY
Site-specific proposals for placement along one of the main avenues (e.g., 825 corridor, @14,000 passenger cars/day) of the Griffiss Technology and Business Park.  GPLA is looking for a monumental, iconic piece of sculpture that may be enjoyed by employees, their families and friends, as well as corporate visitors and guests; both from their vehicles as well as on foot.
 
$85,000 – Marcy Nanocenter at SUNYIT, Marcy, NY
Site-specific proposals that incorporate light, movement and/or other technologies are welcome but NOT required. This commission will be placed on or near a traffic roundabout, please fully research constraints related to this permanent placement with the New York State Department of Transportation (https://www.dot.ny.gov/main/roundabouts/files/00-067.pdf) and the Oneida County Department of Public Works (http://www.ocgov.net/publicworks).

*Please note commission is inclusive of ALL of expenses related to the creative process from beginning to end; including: RFP final plan/proposal and related travel/research, transportation, materials, equipment rental, assistants, food/lodging, artist’s fee and installation. Artist must provide engineering report if deemed necessary by GPLA (GPLA will arrange if desired for a maximum fee of $2000).
 
PROJECT GOALS
To apply innovative Public Art solutions to enhance the innovative Griffiss Technology Park and Marcy Nanocenter at SUNY IT in support of the MVREDC initiative.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Selection Committee will include representatives from Sculpture Space, GPLA, MV EDGE, SUNY IT and other arts and non-arts professionals who will review qualifications and select finalists. Finalists will be invited to visit the sites and submit a proposal (at their own expense).
 
SELECTION CRITERIA
The Selection Committee will use the following criteria in the selection process:
o   Submittal of all required application materials as outlined in the RFQ;
o   Originality, creativity and uniqueness as demonstrated in previous projects;
o   Quality -- both materially and conceptually -- as demonstrated in previous projects;
o   Appropriateness of proposal relative to project parameters and goals;
o   Feasibility;
o   Proven track record/ability of artist to complete proposed work.
 
TERMS
Sculpture Space accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of artist submission materials or technical issues with online submissions. Sculpture Space accepts no responsibility for costs incurred by the artist in responding to this RFQ. Artists and artist collaborations selected for this project will be required to meet all contract terms and scopes. Respondents to this RFQ agree to abide by its terms and conditions. At the conclusion of the RFQ, Sculpture Space reserves the right to choose not to commission any proposal.

We welcome professional artists and artist groups to submit a proposal for a two dimensional artwork (size 16 m x 2.15 m) which will be publicly displayed for 4-6 weeks in a highly frequented underpass in Zurich's (Switzerland) new business district., We are looking for artists who are interested in working with the immediate surrounding of the urban neighborhood of Hardbrücke public area (the underpass),  the location of the underpass or Zurich's urbanity in general. The public area Hardbrücke can be a window that offers connections and associations of any and all sorts., 17ZWEI Call 2013 is a continuation of a first call made in 2012,  which was a great success. We are looking forward to carry on displaying artworks from all over the world.,

Once the deadline has passed,  a jury will select 4-6 works. The selected artists will receive an artist's fee of 1000 CHF. In addition to the artist's fee we offer to cover the travel expenses to Zurich to the opening of the artwork (there is no cash alternative for trip costs). Each piece will be displayed for minimum of 4 weeks., Please note that the artwork will be printed on a 16 x 2.15 meter truck tarp. The truck tarp print will become part of the Deutsche Bank art collection after the public displaying period., If your work gets selected you will be informed of the dates your work will be on display. The decision of the jury will be mailed out to all participants at the end of April., The project is funded by Deutsche Bank and ZHdK.

Free City is a three-day international public art festival that will take place in Flint, Michigan from May 3 to 5, 2013 at an abandoned, former Chevrolet manufacturing site known as Chevy-in-the-Hole. Free City will reconnect residents to the site, and build awareness of its potential as an open space.  

Flint Public Art Project seeks proposals for performances, light sculptures, video projections, DIY machines, homemade inventions, and temporary events to reclaim and transform the Chevy site with a critical mass of striking, strange, and beautiful experiences. 15 artists and performers will receive up to $1,000 to produce their work.

Request for Proposals for an exhibit of social sculpture, performance and video works at the Parthenon Museum of Art, Centennial Park and Amphitheater, Nashville, TN

Curatorial Statement and Call for Proposals:

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of adults in the United States are obese, which leads to such conditions as cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. Annual medical costs are above $147 billion. The South is both the fattest and the unhealthiest region of the United States. In an effort to address this epidemic and other health-related issues, the Parthenon Museum in Nashville, TN, has accepted a proposal for a participatory art project titled "Flex It! My Body My Temple," from the social practice artist Adrienne Outlaw. Outlaw and the Parthenon Museum curator are selecting proposals from an international call to artists present their work in, on and around the grounds of the Parthenon Museum in fall, 2014.

Interested artists should be committed to producing a critically excellent, publicly accessible, participatory work that operates as a unique contribution toward the overall project. Paying homage to both the original and the recreated Parthenon, its architecture and societal values, selected "Flex It!" participants will consult with the Parthenon Museum curator, Greek scholars, health workers, and Metro Parks to help conceptualize their concept and feasibility of their planned artwork during a one month residency at the Parthenon before the three month-long exhibition of artwork, to take place in the fall of 2014. Students and community members will be assist each artist to realize their projects. Residency accommodations will be provided.

"Flex It! My Body My Temple," intends to explore health issues through an entertaining, engaging, and enlightening series of participatory works that encourage partnership between artists and the public while reaching a broad audience. It will work within a new framework of collaborative artistic and curatorial practice that addresses the specific social concern of health issues in an effort to generate debate and ideas about such issues in people’s lives. The catalog accompanying the project will provide a framework for initiating similar projects throughout the country.

The international call for proposals is open to artists of all disciplines. Three artists will be selected to exhibit inside the Parthenon East Gallery.  The gallery measures 1750 square feet/160 running feet.  Three artists will be selected to present work outside on park grounds adjacent to the Parthenon (see images) and dozens of artists will be selected to present sound/video/performance works at the large amphitheater located in the park.

Interested artists are invited to submit a one page proposal, along with a budget, not to exceed $8,000, no later than March 15, 2013 to both curator@n-cap.org and susan.shockley@nashville.gov. Completed works will also be considered.  Accommodations for artists during their one month residency will be provided . Residencies are expected to  be available April–September, 2014. The exhibit will take place October, 2014-Jan. 2015.
