Rattle - A Journal at the Convergence of Art and Writing
Call for submissions
Deadline: 31st August 2013
We are very pleased to now be inviting submissions for our fifth issue of Rattle -- A Journal at the Convergence of Art and Writing. For our fifth issue the submissions guidelines remain the same as previously, and can be found at our website: http://rattlejournal.org.uk/submissions/
We would encourage anyone interested in submitting to look through previous issues. You may also like to look at our Twitter feed to get an idea of some of our interests
Rattle is a journal of art, writing and thought. Submissions may include, but are by no means limited to, theoretical and critical writing, page-based artworks and projects, reviews, fictions and poetry. We are actively seeking innovative approaches to working on the page. Interesting and unusual submissions are encouraged regardless of their form or subject.
In the true spirit of Rattle, we particularly encourage submissions of collaborative work, projects in series and pieces which develop innovative ways of bringing image and text together.
The deadline for receipt of work is 31st August 2013.
Written work should be no longer than 5,000 words. Page-based art works and projects should occupy no more than 12 pages of A5. These are guidelines, not strict parameters, please contact us if you wish to submit work that exceeds these limits.
If the composition of work on the page is significant, please format your work to A5 portrait in order to preserve the integrity of the layout.
Our preference is for text files to be submitted as .pdf and image files as either .jpeg or .tiff, at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Publication is in black and white only, please take this into consideration when submitting images.
All work should be copyright of the contributor, or, where permission to publish is required, the responsibility for securing this will fall to the contributor.
Please note that only submissions sent as attachments will be considered. Work pasted into the body of an email, and group sent emails, will be disregarded.
