The V&A is seeking a specialist in the art of Iran to join the team curating the Museum’s Middle Eastern collection. The new curator will be a scholar with an established academic reputation and relevant expertise, and the willingness and ability to communicate that knowledge to a wide audience.
You will have a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, with a background in the general culture of the Islamic world, and of Iran in particular, and be proficient in spoken and written Persian. The post-holder will contribute to the management and development of the Middle Eastern collections and help to develop and maintain the Departments strong national and international links. The successful candidate will also make a positive contribution to the life of the wider Museum, by taking part in educational and other activities and through research, publication and contributions to on-line resources.
