Guest Artist Exhibitions at Vox Populi
Deadline: January 8, 2010
Vox Populi offers artists living outside of the Philadelphia area the opportunity to extend and challenge their artistic development and exposure to new audiences. Proposals for solo or small, curated group shows will be considered for one or two month long exhibitions. Vox is particularly interested in offering exhibitions to artists who work in experimental materials and/or employ alternative methodologies, whose work is less likely to be shown in a commercial setting. Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $500 but are expected to arrange for installation and deinstallation of their works.
The season for which applications are being accepted is August 2010 - January 2012.
Applications will be reviewed by the artist membership of Vox Populi.
Selected artists will be notified by March 1, 2010.
Applications must include the following:
- Selection of 10-20 jpegs (no larger than 1024x768 pixels) or DVD cued to selection (up to 5 pieces, each no longer than 2 minutes)
(Artists who work in multiple media are encouraged to submit a CD with images and Quicktime video files instead)
- Corresponding numbered check list of works; including title, date, materials and dimensions
- Current resume
- Artist statement and/or proposal (optional, but encouraged)
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Emailed submissions will not be reviewed.
