Flipbook exhibition at bookartbookshop, London
Deadline: February the 26th, 2010
A call for visual and media artists, musicians, film makers and architects, animators and others to create and submit a flipbook, which is based on their own practice.
We are looking for flipbooks, which are newly made and by artists from different disciplines and with different approaches. There is no need to follow the conventional flipbook's format but follow the basic instructions so when flipping through the book there will be a sequence - moving images. The flipbooks will be showing in d a u n m a n k i n o - t h u m b c i n e m a, an exhibition which will take place at bookartbookshop, London, March '10.
bookartbookshop - artists' books and small press publications - is the UK's largest stockist of artists' Books and small press publications. Therefore, it has a unique knowledge of contemporary books by artists. It has augmented collections at various universities, as well as collections at the V&A and Tate. It carries work both by new and established UK artists and presses.
Many of these artists had exhibitions and book launches in the shop. These exhibitions allow the promotion and display of a wide breadth of work from a single artist or publisher and provide a point of entry for new audiences.
The deadline for submitting the Flipbook is Friday, February the 26th, 2010.
