Acid Rain, Open Call for Video Art (New York)

Acid Rain is pleased to announce our first ever call for submissions,for the July 2013 episode.
Emerging and mid-career artists, filmmakers,performers, programmers, animators, and anyone
working with moving images are encouraged to apply. One submission will be chosen for the final
episode of Season Five, which will air on cable access TV stations in New York City, and North
Carolina, in addition to the Acid Rain website. The chosen artists will have their work broadcast,
and included in the permanent Acid Rain archive.
The theme for this open call is "The End", a cryptic, yet nostalgic,pronouncement that brings to
mind the iconic cinematic finale, and a fatalistic resolution. The theme is meant only as a prompt,
and is open to interpretation by each artist. We chose this theme to mark the end of the TV
broadcast portion of Acid Rain, as we look towards new projects, utilizing new mediums after
almost 60 episodes that reached into the homes of viewers in NYC, and North Carolina since 2008.
To apply please follow the instructions:
●There is no fee to apply.
●The submission must not be any longer than 27 minutes, as each episode is 28:30 min, and must
include the intro, and end credits. Like all our episodes, shorter video works will loop continuously
for the duration of the 27 minutes, echoing time-based exhibition formats in museums and galleries.
●Preference will be given to pieces that will have their debut on Acid Rain, including online debuts.
It just makes it more exciting to support works which have never been seen before.
●Create one PDF containing your name, contact info including email, description of the submitted
video, and brief bio or CV.
●Email the PDF attachment with all requested info and a download link to your video submission.
We recommend Google Drive, WeTransfer, or YouSendIt for large file sharing.

●The selected artist will be notified by June 1st, 2013 with instructions on formatting and sending
the high-resolution video file, for broadcast.
