Wheatley Bequest Fine Art Fellowship 2013/14

The Fellowship offers an opportunity for an artist at the commencement of, or at a critical point in their professional career to further develop his or her practice within the world-renowned School of Fine Art, Margaret St.
For 2014-2015, the Fellowship is directing its invitation for applications from painters and/or printmakers.
Applicants should normally have a first degree and/or a post graduate qualification in Fine Art. The Fellow will be provided with a studio in the School of Art and will have access to all of the Institute’s facilities, which includes printmaking, painting, film/video and photography equipment as well as high-end camera/photo-print facilities.
The Fellowship lasts for ten months commencing in October 2014 and culminates with an exhibition in 2015. Some opportunity for teaching will be given.
The successful applicant will be expected to become a full and active member of the academic and research community within the Centre for Fine Art Research (CFAR), the School of Fine Art and the Birmingham Institute for Art & Design (BIAD).
An award of approximately £9000 will be made. This is paid on a monthly basis at a rate of £900 per month. The award is exempt from taxation and other deductions.
