BOSTON HIGH WATER COLLECTIVE
Boston 2050: High Water
International Call for 2D and 3D Environmental Art
Deadline: December 15, 2014
Application Fee: None
The Boston High Water Collective invites all artists, architects and planners age 18 and older world wide to submit up to three (3) original works for the Boston 2050: High Water exhibit at the Grove Hall Branch of the Boston Public Library in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The show will be held in mid to late 2015. We will advise the accepted participants of the dates upon which to deliver their work.
Due to the effects of global climate change, scientists predict that Boston is headed for flooding that will change Boston's coast as early as 2050. Flooding will affect many of us, our neighborhoods, historical places, our means of transportation, and the accessibility of food. Co-curators and artists Jason Pramas, Susan Emmerson, and Stacey Cushner (the Collective) request 2D and 3D art from individual and/or teams of artists, architects and planners (“participant/participants”) that focuses on the impact of flooding in Boston in the years to come. The work can be scientific, abstract, representational, surreal or take on another art form. This exhibit aims to generate increased awareness of climate change issues important to Boston to promote a higher visibility on the subject and its community impact. Please no performance art, no time based work, and no outdoor sculpture.
There may be other opportunities to show your work at additional venues in and around Boston, however, we will contact the applicants individually for further shows.
