The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts welcomes your application to participate in one of its 22 courses. Special features this year are topical positions in painting (Varda Caivano, Melissa Gordon), sculpture and installation (Nora Schultz), as well as unusual and rarely-taught artistic techniques such as miniature painting (Imran Qureshi), ceramics as a sculptural medium (Aaron Angell) and stone sculpture (Andreas Lolis). Summer Academy also focuses on current questions in curatorial theory and praxis (Alya Sebti and Joanna Warsza) as well as on writing about art (Kimberly Bradley).

Why study here?
The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts, founded in 1953 by Oskar Kokoschka as the “School of Vision”, in Hohensalzburg Fortress, is the oldest of its kind in Europe. Every year, some 300 participants from more than 50 countries attend some 20 courses.

Application
All prospective participants must apply for acceptance. On the basis of the submitted dossier, the teaching artists select participants. The fees are between € 450.- and € 1,200.-, depending on the duration of the course. Students are entitled to a reduced fee. All applications received by 2 May 2016 will be treated equally. Later applications are welcome, and will be processed in the order received, according to vacancies in the courses.
