Ecko Magazines Open Call for Artists: Vegetation
Deadline: 28 March 2017
Application fee: £16
The focus of the Vegetation project is to incorporate habitat and environmental space into the concerns of art practice.
This is a project aimed and merging 2D and 3D work, focusing on connecting the artist's work to the natural environment. We hope to see the participating artist's work take an organic path that brings living matter into the artists working environment.
Our project Everyday Detritus focuses on the industrial side effects of waste and pollution. However Vegetation hopes to look at the natural world in a pragmatic way.
Artists can enter the project until the 28th March, from the 1st of April till the 10th work can be entered to our email [email protected].
Artists are being asked to use the word Vegetation as basis to create a body of work, this work can be produced over the 10 days or prior.
The work can be produced in any medium the artists deem appropriate. When documenting the work artists should consider the environment the work is presented; wether this is in the studio or in a natural environment etc. The body of work may infused the progression of a piece, the environment it is made, a mergence of the artwork and natural matter.
