The FiKVA Foundation announces its 1st international contest for representational & figurative painters. This competition aims to encourage and support artists financially and provide them with an opportunity to exhibit their best work online.
Enter the paintings produced the last two years you are most proud of, and you could win up to €5000 in cash and other prizes!
The International FiKVA Award for painters is a global online competition, open to all artists 18 years of age or older. The FiKVA Award welcomes entries in all genres: hyperrealism, photorealism, classical and modern realism, surrealism, and imaginative realism – as long as the artwork reads as representational and not stylized or abstract.
IMPORTANT DATES
Submissions open: April 11th, 2022
Submissions close: July 11th, 2022, 11:59 PM (Brussels Time).
Notification of Top 20 Selection: Aug 14th, 2022 (by email and social media)
Notification of all Winners: Aug 21st, 2022 (All finalists and winners will be notified by email
and published on both the FiKVA website and social media channels)
Online exhibition of the finalists opens: Aug 25th, 2022
ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
The FiKVA Award is open to all 2D artists worldwide, 18 years old or above.
ARTWORK ELIGIBILITY
The work must be the artist's original work. It must have been produced solely by the artist and the copyrights must be the artist’s exclusive property.
- The work may be signed and may have participated in previous competitions.
- The work may be sold, but the copyrights of its image must remain the sole property of the artist.
- Works must be produced between 2020 and 2022.
- Works need to be available for an online exhibition.
- Works do not need to be available for sale.
Accepted media: oil, water-soluble oil paint, acrylic paints, watercolor, ink, gouache, tempera, and all traditional mediums on any support - canvas, board, paper, wood, panel, wall, aluminum, glass etc. Work must be handmade; no digital or mechanical work will be considered.
SUBJECT MATTER & SIZE
There are no requirements for the subject matter or size of your work - we are looking for what you consider your best work from the last two years.
FEES
You must register and pay a registration fee to submit your work.
- Participation in the FiKVA Award with just one work: €25
- You can enter up to 6 works, each additional work will add €10 to your participation fee.
PRIZES
First Prize:
€3000 cash prize + Participation in the online group exhibition of the finalists + Published interview with the FiKVA Foundation + Permanent place on the FiKVA website + Digital and social media marketing
Second Prize:
€1500 cash prize + Participation in the online group exhibition of the finalists + Published interview with the FiKVA Foundation + Permanent place on the FiKVA website + Digital and social media marketing
Third prize:
€500 cash prize +Participation in the online group exhibition of the finalists + Published interview with the FiKVA Foundation + Permanent place on the FiKVA website + Digital and social media marketing
Honorable Mention (3 will be awarded):

THE JURY
The jury for 2022 consists of five professional artists.

Tanya Atanasova – Painter – Bulgaria
The jury evaluates the originality, subject matter, and technical skill of each work. Their selection of the winning works is final, and the decision cannot be appealed on any grounds. Judges are not allowed to participate in the competition in the year they are trusted as jurors, neither are their family members nor members of the FiKVA Organization.
HOW TO ENTER
Submission to the FiKVA Award is exclusively through the website: www.fikva.art
The deadline for entry is July 11th, 2022, 11:59 PM (Brussels Time).
Complete the submission form with data of the artist and the painting (please, do not use accents or punctuation marks). In the case that the data entered is incorrect/untrue, the foundation reserves the right to invalidate and disqualify the submission.
2. Attach an image of the work.
Images of your artwork must be uploaded directly through the FiKVA website/ application form in a JPG or PNG format.
The image files must be a minimum of 1000 pixels wide and must NOT exceed 4 MB in size.
Have the file name format: Artist Name_Artwork Title_Material_Size_Year of production (exp:
Maria Simone_Summer Days_Oil on Canvas_60 x 80cm_2020)
If the work is framed, please, do not include the frame in the image.
By submitting to the FiKVA Award you agree to our terms and conditions and grant the FiKVA Foundation the right to use your images for digital advertisement. FiKVA does not claim any intellectual rights on works entered in the competition, nor any financial compensation, should a work be sold following its promotion through FiKVA.
